Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Deputy Minister of Health Rabbi Yaakov Litzman, Minister of Education Naftali Bennett and Minister of Justice Ayelet Shaked on Sunday awarded the 2018 Danielle Prize to 10 of Israel’s outstanding family physicians at a ceremony at Jerusalem’s International Convention Center.
The ‘Danielle Prize—Healing with a Heart’, was established by Elio Moti Sonnenfeld in memory of his daughter, Danielle Sonnenfeld, 20, a volunteer in the oncology department at Schneider Children’s Medical Center in Petah Tikva, who was killed in a 2014 car accident while going home from in the hospital.
The winning doctors were selected by over 150,000 patients from 5,400 family doctors serving in Israel’s four health funds – Clalit, Leumit, Meuhedet and Maccabi.
